The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The 2 Hebrew letters Chet and Yud (read right to left) make up the word "Chai" which means life. Their numerical value is 18 which is why the number eighteen is considered a good luck number in the Jewish tradition.

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I attended Parsons School of Design, Graphic Design Department, where I studied painting and drawing under Stephen Greene and Fred Koenigsberg and graduated in 1957. After a career as a Graphic Designer, I moved to Tucson in March 2005.
